Preliminary Task Evaluation

Preliminary task evaluation

During our filming process, we wanted to create a short clip of something which was simple to create and helps us gets used to using the camera and the tripod. We experimented with the camera shots for example shot reverse shot and match on action, we found out these worked really well.
Our preliminary task doesn’t really link well to our film but we used our preliminary task to get used to camera angles and realised we need to plan a script before we film.
We need to improve on staying focused on the film and try not to laugh when filming because our story line is horror so we need to be serious, also in our preliminary task we realised that with the camera, we can’t always use the tripod and it effects our film because then some of the shots are shaky and it doesn’t look professional.
We tried to use all the film practises but we didn’t understand all of them so that why not all were included, but now we’ve spoken about it and discussed how it will fit into our film.

In conclusion I think that our preliminary task was a big success, as we demonstrated a keen understanding of the film makign process, and we did it creatively. Our major criticism was the length of it, as none of the others exceeded even half its length, but I don't think it's an issue, as we did what we wanted, and we tested out a lot of things that would be vital in the success of our final piece.
